Providing personalized college application and financial aid support

CollegePoint advising

Supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies, CollegePoint is a virtual advising program that helps top students apply to colleges, find scholarships, navigate the financial aid process, and make college decisions — entirely for free!

CollegePoint will match a student with an advisor who provides personalized college application and financial aid support.

Our advisors are

  • Current college students from top schools like Middlebury, Emory University, Johns Hopkins University, Indiana University – Bloomington, and Yale
  • People from many different backgrounds and from across the country
  • From our partner organization Matriculate

Our advisors have

  • First-hand experience applying to and getting into top-performing colleges in the US
  • Extensive training so they’ll be able to provide detailed info on which colleges will be the best match and fit—meaning schools that meet students’ academic, financial, and personal needs

Our advisors will help with

  • Creating a college list and introducing students to great colleges they may not have known about or that they thought would be out of reach academically or financially
  • Writing a personal statement and editing essays
  • Accessing financial aid and searching for scholarships
  • Talking with students about what it’s like to leave home and live in a dorm
  • Analyzing financial aid award letters and making a college decision
  • Preparing for the transition to college
  • Answering any college application questions that are stressing students out
