Seth Allen is Vice President for Strategy & Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid at Pomona College (CA).  Prior to Pomona, Seth held positions as Dean of Admission and Financial Aid at Grinnell College (IA) and Dean of Admissions at Dickinson College (PA).  Seth earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from Johns Hopkins University (MD), where he also served in admissions and directed the enrollment research and planning office.   

At Pomona, Seth works on broad strategic institutional initiatives, provides executive oversight to Admissions and Financial Aid, and is a member of the president’s leadership team.  In his strategy role, Seth helps Pomona chart the future, and in his enrollment role, Seth works closely with the faculty and other offices at Pomona to ensure the college attracts a highly talented, diverse, interesting and successful student body.

Seth has presented widely on admissions and financial aid topics at national and international conferences and has been quoted extensively by members of the US media.  He has served on a number of national admissions committees and is a former president of The Common Application as well as a former director of The Coalition for College.
